View PortfolioAbout Me
My name is Katelyn and I'm a web developer & designer specialising in WordPress, React.js, PHP, Javascript, Typescript, and HTML/CSS. I completed my Graduate Diploma in IT (Majoring in Computer Science) early 2023, and am currently working as part of the productions team at Digital8.
I love creating new pages, plugins, websites and designs for clients, fixing any tickets that come my way to the best of my ability.
Outside of the office, I also enjoy experimenting with other programming languages, frameworks, and technologies, creating small personal projects just for fun!
I am always happy to connect with others in the industry, so if you want to say 'hi' then please reach out!

Pie Solutions – WordPress
In 2024, Pie Solutions approached Digital8 to rebuild their website with a fresh look. The client came with a clear idea in mind on what they wanted the new site to feel like to their users – clean, simple, and minimalistic design to give their business a professional look. This was a solo project for me. I went away and selected a few base WordPress themes for them to choose from, and then I built out the design based on the different pages and sections they required.
The client was happy with the result and I launched the website on their servers for them at the end. It was a small but fun project to complete!

Throughout 2023, I worked as a Front End developer on a large React & Laravel project for Lighting Illusions. This was a custom ecommerce website rebuild based on a Figma design using Tailwind. This project was managed in an Agile style with each developer being responsible for a certain number of stories to deliver in each sprint.
I worked on many components and pages throughout the build, and in particular was responsible for building the Products Pages, and the Checkout Pages/Flow. This was a wonderful and rewarding project to be a part of and I am proud of the work we delivered.

Delivered during 2023, I worked on a large-scale ecommerce React & Laravel project for Ceiling Fans Direct as a Front End developer. This build was implemented using Tailwind and based on a Figma design. This project was managed using the Agile project framework with each developer on the team being responsible for a certain number of stories to deliver in each sprint.
I worked on many components and pages throughout the build, and in particular assisted with many CSS fixes across the site to ensure it looked up to par with the Figma designs before the launch. This was an enjoyable project to be a part of and I am very happy of the final build that we delivered.

In 2023, I designed an developed a new ads landing page for CIB. This landing page design had the goal of optimising the conversion rate of a range of new Google Ads campaigns the client was going to launch. Through hotjar tracking and other platforms we were able to track the performance of these pages and make improvements accordingly over time to further optimise the design.
The client had really great results from this new landing page, and he has now requested for a similar redesign of his other indexed service pages as well. Nothing feels better than when your work aligns well with the client’s goals. Read his testimonial for our team here.

Common Ground approached Digital8 and we worked on a redesign and rebuild of their website. This new look was recently launched to their live domain, and I am really proud to have worked on this project.
Apart from initial mockups of the home page, I was the lead designer & developer for this project which was built in WordPress. This was a great project to work on, and I really enjoyed the process from design to launch.

In 2023, I was tasked with the new Slade Industries website rebuild and redesign project. Our in-house designer provided the initial home page design for the new look of the website, and I built out the rest of the website based on this to give it a consistent and polished feel. It was a really enjoyable project and I loved working with the client and building this website theme.

As a member of the roller skating club in Logan City, I volunteered my services to the team to redesign and build a new club website. Their previous site was made in Weebly and they wanted something that was easy for them to maintain and update. I designed the website front page in Figma and once I received the go ahead from the club I built out the rest of the pages and launched the site on a new host suitable for WordPress. I was really happy to have the chance to give back to a community and sport that I love through my work.
